the U.S. dollar was replaced by the Euro in Ranking of global payment currencies in October
In the ranking of global payment currencies in October published by the Association for World Banking, Financial and Telecommunications (SWIFT), the US dollar, which originally ranked first, was eventually replaced by the euro. The euro accounted for 37.82% of global payments, up 1.53 percentage points from the previous month. As for the second-ranked US dollar, the share of global payments fell further to 37.64%, a drop of 0.81 percentage points from the previous month. As for the third and fourth sterling and Japanese yen, they are 6.92% and 3.59%, respectively, and their proportions have not changed much compared with the previous month. As for the renminbi, it fell to the sixth most active currency in the world, but the proportion of global payments dropped from 1.97% in September to 1.66%, which may be affected by recent Sino-US relations.
