澳洲央行宣布维持利率0.25%
澳洲央行於议息会议後，宣布维持利率於 0.25%不变，同时续将三年期国债收益率目标维持於 0.25%水平，符合市场预期。此外，央行亦决定增加定期融资设施的规模至 2,000 亿澳元，并延长其使用期限至2021年 6 月，旨在为受疫情影响企业持续提供资金，目前该融资设施已使用了约 520亿澳元额度。央行声明重申，经济正处於非常困难的时期，尽管困难重重，但经济下滑并未像先前预期的那样严重，澳洲大部分地区目前正在复苏。然而，受疫情影响，预期复苏道路将崎岖不平。
美国就业市场仍处萎缩状态
美国供应管理协会(ISM) 8 月制造业指数续升至 56，高於市场预期的 54.5，为连续三个月增长，并创逾一年半以来最高。主要受新订单分类指数升至 67.6，创 2017 年 12 月後最高。至於就业指数则升至 46.4，但数字仍低於 50，反映就业市场仍处萎缩状态。美国 ISM 制造业指数的虽持续改善，但疫情导致支出从用於餐馆和酒吧等服务行业的设备转向购买家用电器等商品，使企业信心出现两极化的失衡情况。
