中國國家統計局公布，中國 4 月消費物價指數(CPI) 按年續升至 2.1%，較前值上升 0.6 個百分點，且創近 11 個月以來高位，市場原先預期為 1.8%。當中，食品價格按年轉升 1.9%，至於非食品價格則上升 2.2%。同期，中國生產物價指數(PPI) 按年上升 8%，創近一年以來低位，較前值回落 0.3 個百分點，但仍高於市場預期的 7.8%，主要受大宗商品價格上升所帶動。中國 CPI 雖持續回升，但仍低於中國人民銀行 3%的通脹目標，且見 PPI 增幅亦穩步回落，料中國人民銀行仍有空間出招刺激經濟。
