中國 8 月PMI續跌至 50.1, 創一年的新低
中國國家統計局公布，中國 8 月官方製造業採購經理指數(PMI)續跌至 50.1，創一年半以來低位，亦低於市場預期的 50.2。期內，非製造業採購經理指數(PMI)亦跌至 47.5，大幅低於市場預期的 52，是去年 3 月以來首次失守 50 分水嶺水平，前值為 53.3。數據反映部份地區疫情重燃，對服務業影響較預期為高。受服務業前景擔憂所拖累，該月綜合 PMI 跌至 48.9，按月回落 3.5，數據加劇市場對中國經濟復蘇步伐或進一步放緩的擔憂。不過，由於中國疫情似見受控，若能趕及中秋及國慶假期消費旺季前重啟經濟活動，料有助服務業復蘇前景。
日本首相菅義偉將會更換一位盟友
日本多個媒體報導，日本首相菅義偉預計將會短期內更換一位長期不受歡迎的盟友，且極有可能是自民黨幹事長二階俊博。此外，他正尋求在 10 月國會大選前，率先舉行黨魁選舉及黨內管理職務的改組，以便提升整個自民黨的民意支持度。不過，由於首相菅義偉近期民調支持度極低迷，故市場估計菅義偉或有機會失去黨魁之位。至於 10 月大選，自民黨亦有可能會失去國會絕大多數優勢，從而弱化下任首相的施政能力。
