因新冠病毒疫情影响, 令美国今年财年政府开支上升
美国国会预算办公室表示，由於新冠病毒疫情广泛影响经济，故政府为纾缓经济损失而实施的大规模刺激措施，将令本财政年度联邦预算赤字升至创纪录的 3.3 万亿美元，是上年度预算赤字的 3 倍以上，相当於国内生产总值的 16%，但略低於 4 月时初步估计的 3.7 万亿美元。此外，又预期本财年政府开支将上升至 6.6 万亿美元，面对如此庞大的政府开支，料美国政府只能透过印钞及增税，这两项可谓两难的解决方法，因增税可能会加剧经济下行的压力，而印钞可能会掩盖结构性的支出问题，至於後果有可能使市场对美元逐步失去信心。
金价稍微下跌
9月3日美国主要股指周四大幅收低，并创下6月以来最大单日跌幅，因投资者抛售此前大涨的科技板块，且经济数据突显出市场担忧经济复苏将会漫长而艰难。美元指数反弹受阻，盘中一度创一周高点至93.07附近，这令金价承压，现货黄金一度跌至1922.11附近，不过新冠疫情和欧美股市大跌仍给金价提供一些支撑。
