日本首相岸田文雄上周五(15 日)指，日本央行的貨幣政策應以維持日本通脹率於 2%為目標，非操縱日圓匯價。而他更指出，近期於日本出現的通脹問題，是由於國際油價及一眾原料價格上升所致，與弱日圓無關。此話一出，市場便意識到日本政府或日本央行是不會改變貨幣政策以支撐日圓。相反更可能趁今次環球爆發的通脹潮以把日本長期的通縮問題解決。雖然於本周一，日本央行行長黑田東彥改口指，日圓波動性過大會損日本企業利益，以嘗試阻止日圓匯價下跌。但除非市場見到日本央行在貨幣政策上出手阻止，相信市場對持有日圓仍缺乏信心。
