澳央行周二(6 日) 宣布加息 50 基點，把其官方息率推上 2.35%水平。在其聲明中，澳央行行長洛威指，維持價格穩定是保經濟及就業長遠發展的先決條件。言下之意，洛威似乎是傾向要繼續加息。現市場估計，於 10 月 4 日議息會澳央行會續加息，但加幅料將只有 25 基點，機率為市場共識。從近期澳洲公布的經濟數字，如失業率降至只有3.4%，是自 1974 年以來最低，及出口強勢等所見，似乎暫時看不到澳央行的連環加息對澳洲經濟帶來任何負面影響。澳元的基礎因素雖好，但分析澳元匯價走勢不能忽略區內兩大貨幣變化，分別是人民幣及日圓走勢。最 近，人民幣明顯跌破了 6.97 兌 1 美元水平，而日圓匯價更跌近 142 兌 1 美元。澳洲的出口主要面向亞洲，中國及日本更是其兩個最大出口市場。
