约翰逊会仿效罗斯福的方法去推动经济
周一，英国首相约翰逊在接受电台访问时承诺，会仿效美国前总统罗斯福在美国经济大萧条期间，以大刀阔斧模式扩大政府开支的方法推动经济。约翰逊还扬言会大举增加投资，除了先前推出的 1,330亿英镑救经济方案，会继续推出更多方案帮助稳定商业及协助个人。在整个访问中，约翰逊并没有表明他会用以甚麽形式又或会动用多少金额推动经济。但於同一天，英国债务办公室则表明，会於 4 月至 8 月期间，出售 2,750 亿英镑债务，即较对上一个财政年度的双倍发债量，以配合政府对动用资金的需要。
美国当地经济活动恢复,使黄金有下行风险
周一因为鲍威尔的演讲稿传达了他对经济活动恢复情况的乐观论调，提振了市场的乐观情绪，同时投资者寄望刺激计划支持经济反弹，且经济数据改善，推动美股反弹，这限制了黄金的上涨。但是因为疫情二次蔓延的风险，更多美国的州延长了经济重启的计划，可能会加剧经济下行的风险。
