美國石油協會5月20日發布月報表示，4月份，美國石油需求為1,930萬桶/日，較前月減少5.2%，並創下一年以來的新低。4月份，美國汽油需求為870萬桶/日，較前月減少0.1%，較去年同期也減少0.8%；蒸餾油需求為390萬桶/日，較前月減少2.5%，較去年同期也減少3.2%。報告表示，4月份，美國原油產量為1,180萬桶/日，較前月增加1.4%，較去年同期也增加5.4%，但與2019年11月的創新高產量相比仍減少110萬桶/日。作為美國原油生產的觀察指標，油田服務公司貝克休斯（Baker Hughes Inc.）報告表示，4月份美國石油探勘井數量較前月增加4%至549座，相比疫情前同期2019年4月的821座則減少33%。報告表示，4月份，美國原油與油品的淨出口量較前月的50萬桶/日增加至140萬桶/日，其中石油進口減少了40萬桶/日，石油出口則是增加40萬桶/日，主要因為俄烏戰爭爆發之後，市場迴避俄羅斯原油，使得美國原油出口需求增加的影響。4月份，美國煉油產量年增3.4%至1,620萬桶/日，煉油廠產能利用率90.1%，則是創下2018年以來的同期新高。
