美國財長質疑上屆美國政府與中國達成的貿易協議
根據彭博引述消息指，美國財長耶倫對上屆政府去年與中國達成的貿易協議表示質疑，並認為對中國徵收關稅的方式並沒有經過深思熟慮，且某程度上是傷害美國消費者的利益，未能真正解決兩國之間的根本問題。此外，又指拜登政府必須決定是否保留該項協議還是尋求以新的協議取而代之。中美貿易談判自去年暫停後已超過一年，若報導屬實，一旦雙方重新談判，使關稅得以取消。料將有助緩和市場對全球貿易前景，以及美國通脹失控的擔憂。不過，由於中美關係錯綜複雜，預料短期內出現重大進展的機會不大。
澳洲總理莫里森的民眾支持度降至 51%
澳洲人報(The Australian) 委托澳洲新聞民意測驗所(News poll) 於本月 14 到 17 日進行民調結果顯示，澳洲總理莫里森的民眾支持度續降至 51%，是去年初特大山火以來最低，回憶本年 4 月為 85%。至於莫里森領導的自由黨/國家黨聯盟支持度亦降至 47%，支持度明顯落後於在野工黨的 53%。主要受政府接種疫苗進度緩慢及 Delta 變異病毒疫情，引致再度封城所影響。澳洲參眾兩院將於 2022 年或之前舉行大選，若莫里森仍未能有效處理疫情，則可能令在野工黨有機可乘。
