美國通貨膨脹創31年新高
美國最新公布的10月消費者物價指數(CPI)顯示通貨膨脹壓力飆升31年新高，薪資增幅完全跟不上，對市場造成壓力，也令總統拜登的執政亮起紅燈。不像堅持通膨壓力終將自行緩解的聯儲局，拜登對於飛升的物價憂心不已，下令要求政府機關設法「降低能源成本」。根據白宮發布的新聞稿，拜登在11月10日發布演說，直指10月通膨壓力呈月增，傷害美國民眾荷包，扭轉這個趨勢已成優先要務。拜登表示，CPI報告中，對物價增幅貢獻最大的就是日益高漲的能源成本，他已指示美國經濟委員會(National Economic Council, NEC)設法降低這些成本，並要求聯邦貿易委員會(FTC)打擊相關產業中，任何可能的市場操縱或哄抬價格行徑。拜登並表示，報告中的其他物價增幅，則反映經濟重啟過程不順的問題，他今日會前往巴爾的摩(Baltimore)，向大家說明基礎建設法案會如何壓低成本、緩解供應鏈瓶頸，並使商品供應增加、價格下滑。
