英国衞生部周日(9 日)公布，当地单日新增 1,062 人确诊，是 6 月底以来确诊人数再超越 1,000 人，而於前一天新增确诊人数为 758 人，使英国累计确诊病例已超越愈 31 万宗，数据反映当地疫情恶化，可能出现第二波的爆发。为防止疫情继续蔓延，英国政府已宣布，将下阶段重启计划，从本月1日押後至两星期後才实施，英国疫情担忧再现，短期或限制英镑表现。
