於周三議息會，新西蘭央行宣布加息半厘，把其官方息率推上 1.5%位置，成為其是次加息周期的第四度加息。新西蘭央行解釋，加大加息步伐是為壓抑國內民眾對通脹預期，從而達到降低通脹目標。至於按照最新新西蘭元利率期貨價格變化顯示，市場估計該行 5 月仍有機會加息半厘，但機率只為 74%不算太高。至於今年底息率攀至 2.5%基本上是市場共識，至於年底加息至 2.75%機率則為八成。
