由於疫情导致全球多处封城封关，正常经济活动大受影响，现时纽约期油价格得以维持於约 40 美元徘徊，很大程度上是多得油组的每日大幅减产 770 万桶石油。但如拜登一旦上台，油组对支持油价所要付出的努力可要更大。一点必须理解，特朗普上台後先後对伊朗及委内瑞拉等两大石油出口国作出经济制裁。全球缺乏了这两国家的庞大石油出口，这对油价可视为利好因素。但倘若拜登上台後改变对这两国的政策，如容许这两国重新出口石油，这样油组要支撑油价，其所要付出的努力将要更大。当然，就是拜登上台，要改变对伊朗及委内瑞拉的态度相信也要一段时间。
因疫情问题, 高盛下调对美国和欧洲的经济增长预期
高盛下调了对美国和欧洲的经济增长预期，理由是担心疫情在冬季加速传播。高盛的分析师团队将美国2021年第一季度经济增长预期从7%下调至3.5%，并将欧洲第四季度经济增长预期从9.1%大幅下调至萎缩8.7%。他们还警告，如果疫情继续恶化，美国和欧洲经济风险倾向於下行。
