美國財長指不提高債務上限將會引發金融危機
美國財長耶倫出席國會聽證會時表示，美國經濟正處於復蘇軌道上，但若不提高債務上限，將會導致失業率及國債借貸成本上升。又警告債務違約可能會引發金融危機及災難，損害美元作為儲備貨幣的信心。另外，聯儲局主席鮑威爾於聽證會中重申幾乎達到可以縮減買債的測試標準，強調即使縮減買債，但在明年中之前，仍會繼續寬鬆政策。又指通脹高企只屬暫時性，並認為需要紓緩供應鏈短缺問題，通脹才能回落。惟見目前美國長債息飆升、債務違約擔憂，以及兩名聯儲局委員疑因涉及證券交易風波辭任等，均增加市場的避險情緒，帶動美匯曾升至近 11個月高位。
中國大部份省市已經采取限電措施
中國已有20多省市采取限電措施，從南方持續擴散至東北地區。鑒于企業限電至民生用電皆有影響，各地政府都表明要有效調度電力供應。吉林省長韓俊表示，將加緊推進購買俄羅斯、印度尼西亞和蒙古煤炭，多路并進保煤炭供應發電。他27日到部分發電企業視察，談話顯示東北的缺電與煤炭短缺、價格高相關。韓俊強調，煤炭保障和電力供應是事關人民群眾切身利益和經濟社會穩定健康發展的大事，必須把煤炭保供和電力穩供作為當前各級黨委政府的重大任務，千方百計保供電、保供暖、保民生、保生產，決不能因缺煤缺電影響群眾正常生產生活、影響吉林振興發展大局。
